The Homes…..

Our homes are elevated for good breezes and provide spectacular views of the blues and greens of the bay during the day and millions of stars at night. Watching the moon or sunrise over the bay can be an exhilarating experience. Beach chairs are provided along with lounge chairs for the sun deck. On the covered porch we have an outdoor dining table with seating, Adirondack chairs, lounge chairs and a stainless steel Kitchenaid grill. There is a private Beach Cabana on the beach with beach chairs that provide you some shade on the beach and a nice place to have lunch.

The Vacation Rentals, Key Lime Beach House and Mango Beach House are very well outfitted as listed below with ample space and very comfortable furnishings as you will see by the photos and items listed. Wireless internet and cable throughout, local and internet phone provided.

3 en suite bedrooms, all with spectacular beach views, top quality furnishings, linens and towels. 1 king bed with double shower & walk-in closet with entrance to covered deck. 1 queen bed with shower and large closet and entrance to covered deck. 1 queen bed with tub/shower & closet. All bedrooms have flat screen TV’s and excellent views of the beach, bay, ocean and surrounding islands. For those who may like to sleep late the bedrooms have blackout curtains for the areas where sunlight may be an issue.

The living area has leather sofa, love seat and chair with ottoman. A 52” Flat Screen Smart TV, DVD player, IPod doc and surround sound. Games, Movies, Music provided, Books and Cookbooks.

Inside dining table has seating for eight. Breakfast bar seating for three. Porch dining seating for six.

Kitchen and breakfast bar have beautiful granite countertops, full size refrigerator with icemaker, gas range, microwave, dishwasher, hand mixer, blender, Cuisinart grind & brew coffee maker, can opener, toaster, food processor, flatware service for 12, cooking utensils, cutlery, bake ware, dishes-service for 12, beach coolers, glass and insulated tumblers, barware, cookware and a large variety of spices.

The bar area between the kitchen and living has an ice machine.

The Area……

Casuarina Point is a unique location with beautiful, crystal clear shallow water and several spoil islands just off shore. This area boasts some of the prettiest white sand beaches in the world, one of which is at your doorstep. The reef that protects the bay provides for calm waters unlike many oceanfront beaches. With several small uninhabited islands in the area you can always find something to do. Picnic, swim, snorkel. There are blue holes, beautiful shoals teaming with small schools of fish, sea fans, corals and lots of sea life. There are several flats, sand banks and at least three very private beaches for swimming and picnics. If you like fly fishing for the elusive bonefish you need not go any further than right out the front door. Several of our guests have caught them wading less the five hundred feet from the house. The sand banks in the area are a great place for the young and old to discover new things like rays, star fish, shelling and sand dollars which we can guarantee that you will find. There is much to do at our vacation rentals.

Things To Do…

Here is a sampling of things to do:

Abaco Parrot

The best time to look for the Abaco Parrot is early morning and late afternoon.  Map in book with other ideas. Recently we have seen the Parrots in Casuarina Point. You can usually hear them squawking before you see them.

Hope Town

If you wish to visit the world famous Hope Town Lighthouse, you can take the ferry to Hope Town and let the ferry captain know you want to get off at the Light house.  You will need to get another ride to the main part of town to have lunch, shop or look around.  Just ask the boat captain or someone that is there.  Cap’n Jacks is one of our favourite places to go.  You have to try Vernon’s Pies.  Just ask someone for directions.  There is also a great coffee shop there.

Cherokee Sound

You can visit Cherokee Sound by boat or car.  It is a quaint seaside community with sidewalk like streets and beautiful old clapboard homes. Tie the boat up at the public dock just past the gas station.  There is a grocery store if you need anything, always call before you go to be sure they are open (242-366-2022).  Sometimes they have homemade goodies, like Jams, Jellies, Pies or Bread. They also sell T-Shirts and a few souvenirs, etc.J

There are two churches you can attend in Cherokee Sound. The Ebenezer Methodist Church or The Assembly Of God. The Ebenezer Church is a beautiful old building that was build out of cut limestone rock and has been beautifully restored by the community in recent years.

Don’t miss the Long Dock! It is the longest wooden dock in the Bahamas and so it is appropriately named. It has been lost in many hurricanes but the men in the Cherokee community always pull together to rebuild her.

There is also a monument in memory of the fisherman that have been lost at sea, a Shell Museum, Library and several Churches.

Marsh Harbour

Enjoy a freshly made bowl of Conch Salad, you will not regret it. Watch George the Conch Man break the conch out of the shell, chop the vegetables and squeeze the limes – right in front of you!                        Unfortunately George is currently not at this location. We hope that as things improve we will see him again. But….there is a new couple next to Colours Restaurant and Bar that make Conch Salad Daily! 

Point of Spit

The island directly across the bay in front of the Key Lime Beach House is Point of Spit.  It is a great place to sit and relax, cook a hotdog or hamburger or even bbq some chicken.  It is a great picnic spot.  In the summer time we often meet with neighbours there on a Friday night to grill and have a cocktail or two. Kayak or boat from the vacation rentals to Point of Spit.
